get on the bus -
hurry now!
the doors close,
but we stay -
for a moment -
and I peer out the window -
lo and behold! -
the bus lady,
waving at the bus drive
I assume he waves back
and I wonder -
why?
is it some sort of secret signal,
something only adults knew?
or perhaps -
perhaps they are in love,
perhaps they cannot see eaach other
except for now
perhaps they know each other
but are shy
and they are afraid
to approach
. . .
or perhaps
it's only imaginary,
an imaginary romance
